In his short 18 years, Dominic led a vibrant, inspirational life & had an incredibly bright future ahead as an early enlistee of the U.S. Army. Dominic possessed a contagious zeal for life & expressed his love & admiration for others without inhibition. He made it a point to show compassion & kindness to everyone & injected humor into everyday, ordinary situations. Dominic's drive & dedication made him a stand-out athlete, but his grit and resilience made him truly special. After sustaining 2 serious sports injuries, Dominic underwent three surgeries & 2 excruciatingly slow years of rehabilitation. Upon being medically cleared in the fall of his senior year, Dominic made the decision to serve our nation and enlisted in the Army. When asked why he chose this path, without hesitation, Dominic affirmed, “I want to be useful with my body.” In what came to be the final 6 months of his life, Dominic never wavered in his patriotic & selfless decision to serve our country—he even arranged for an early graduation from CB West so he could leave for basic training this spring. Please join me in expressing condolences to all of Dominic's family and friends, & let his joy for life, love, & our country be an inspiration to us always.
